En el marco del 35° aniversario de la Convención sobre los Derechos del Niño (CDN), es imprescindible no solo celebrar los avances, sino también reconocer los retos que aún debemos superar. Porque mientras un solo niño vea vulnerados sus derechos, nuestro compromiso debe continuar.
¿Qué falta por hacer?
Erradicar la pobreza infantil: millones de niños aún viven en condiciones de extrema necesidad.
Garantizar educación de calidad para todos: persisten desigualdades que impiden que muchos niños accedan a oportunidades equitativas.
Proteger a los niños de la violencia doméstica: la seguridad en el hogar sigue siendo un tema desafiante en cada región.
Atender a niños migrantes y refugiados: los niños desplazados necesitan mayor protección y apoyo.
Asegurar acceso a servicios de salud esenciales: la cobertura desigual sigue afectando al colectivo de niñez.
Mitigar el impacto del cambio climático: los efectos del cambio climático ponen en riesgo su bienestar futuro.
Proteger a los niños en entornos digitales: es urgente abordar los riesgos asociados al mundo virtual.
Reducir las desigualdades de género: las niñas aún enfrentan barreras significativas.
Erradicar el trabajo infantil en sectores informales: muchos niños aún trabajan en condiciones precarias.
Fortalecer los sistemas de justicia: resulta imprescindible reformar y adaptar los procedimientos judiciales para garantizar estándares sólidos de debido proceso, integrando una perspectiva de derechos de la niñez que priorice su protección, participación activa y comprensión en cada etapa del proceso judicial.
Estos pendientes no solo son una muestra de los desafíos que enfrentamos, sino también un llamado a redoblar esfuerzos para garantizar una infancia plena y protegida.
La protección de los Derechos de los Niños es una responsabilidad que nos compete a todos.
